What is the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) and do I qualify?

The CDCP is a federal program that helps Canadians without dental insurance access care at little or no cost. Since June 2025, it covers all age groups. You may qualify if you don't have dental insurance through work or school, your household income is under $90,000, you've filed your taxes, and you're a Canadian resident for tax purposes. Most people are surprised to find they qualify — we'll confirm your eligibility when you book.

What happens during my first visit?

Your first visit includes a comprehensive oral exam, digital X-rays (if needed), TMJ assessment, cavity detection, gum health evaluation, professional cleaning and polishing, and a fluoride treatment. Plus, you'll go home with a complimentary electric toothbrush. Dr. G takes time to get to know you and your smile — no rushing, no pressure.
Do you accept dental insurance and offer direct billing?

Yes — we accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) and provide direct billing to all major dental insurance companies. Our flexible payment options and direct billing make it simple to get the care you need without worrying about paperwork.
Do I really have to go to the dentist every six months?

How often you come in depends on your oral health needs. The goal is to catch small problems early — for many people, that means every six months. Dr. G may suggest more or fewer visits based on how well you care for your teeth, problems that need monitoring, and how fast tartar builds up.
Will my exam or cleaning hurt?

Not at all. Dr. G and our team are known for a gentle, compassionate approach — and we offer sedation dentistry for patients with dental anxiety. If anything ever feels uncomfortable, just let us know and we'll adjust right away.
